INTRODUCTION TO STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS

With big school opportunities in a small school environment, Fremont Christian School (FCS) partners with families to provide our everyday kids both an extraordinary education and genuine encounters with Jesus, all within a community of compassion.

OUR GOAL

Our faculty and staff are here to support our students by seeking to remove roadblocks to accessing content and practicing skills. We are aware that helpful resources and supportive communities can be hard to find, making everyday life even more difficult.

We’re here to change that by connecting the students who face these challenges, and those who champion them, to resources and expertise that will boost confidence. We believe that with the right tools and support, all students have the opportunity to thrive.

We’re dedicated to growing our skills in supporting students academically and socially, shaping our community of learners so that everyone feels supported at school and learns to embrace learning differences.

WHAT ARE LEARNING DISABILITIES?

According to the Learning Disabilities Association of America, learning disabilities (LD) are caused by genetic and/or neurobiological factors that alter brain functioning in a manner that affects one or more cognitive processes related to learning.

Learning disabilities vary in severity and may interfere with the acquisition and development of oral language, reading, written language, and math. Learning disabilities often go undetected, and as a result, many children do not receive necessary treatments or services when they need and may struggle with poor academic performances as well as lower self-esteem.

Parents can help children with learning disabilities achieve success by encouraging their strengths, knowing their weaknesses, working with schools and professionals, and learning about strategies for dealing with specific difficulties.
